Grand Junction

The largest city in Western Colorado, located along the Colorado River 30 miles to the Utah border, Grand Junction is in the heart of Colorado’s Wine Country.  Fast becoming a major mountain biking destination, the arid Grand Valley, as it is known, is surrounded by stunning flat top mountains and desert like terrain.  Outdoor adventures abound in Grand Junction.  In addition to ample mountain biking, there are thousands of rock formations to please climbers, miles of river for rafting, fishing, and kayaking, several golf courses, and even skiing at the nearby Powderhorn Resort.  The Grand Junction area is home to nearly 20 vineyards and wineries, most offering tours and tastings.  And for those more inclined to the indoors, visit the Museum of the West, the Art Center, and take in a show at the Two Chairs Theater Company or the Grand Junction Symphony.   

Home to the regional Grand Junction airport, which offers several flights a day to major US cities, Grand Junction is an easily accessible Western Colorado destination for meetings and groups. There is a variety of venues and lodging available in the Grand Junction area. The Two Rivers Convention Center is the premier facility, a multipurpose ‘green’ venue, it can accommodate groups in excess of 2,000 people with more than 22,000 square feet of meeting space and has a full service catering and convention staff utilizing environmentally friendly practices. The unique Gateway Canyons Resort caters to groups and individuals, with 8,700+ square feet of meeting space, 54 rooms, stables, adventure center, and a spa.  Many of the area vineyards also make unique meeting and event venues, including Amy’s Courtyard for up to 150 guests and the Two Rivers Winery and Chateau with a conference/event center and ten lodge rooms, it is a picturesque destination facility.  There are also several budget friendly options including the Courtyard by Marriott, the DoubleTree, the Holiday Inn, the Hampton Inn, and the La Quinta Inn and Suites. 

Many festivals and special events are held in Grand Junction throughout the year, including the Grand Junction Art and Jazz Festival, the National Monument Celebration, BBQ Blues Festival, Mountains to Desert Bike Ride, Palisade Peach Festival, Summer Concerts at Grande River Vineyards, and Country Jam.  Grand Junction is an ideal Western Colorado destination filled with adventures, epic views, city conveniences, and budget friendly options.
