For two days in early October 2020, Destination Colorado teamed up with the Aspen Chamber Resort Association to demonstrate how to host meetings during COVID-19 while keeping both attendees’ health and a great experience at the forefront. During the annual Customer Appreciation Event, Destination Colorado interviewed several attendees to gather feedback and learn about how properties around the state are working with groups to make in-person events a reality again.

How to Host an Event During COVID-19

How do you successfully host an annual business event that people are willing and eager to attend during COVID-19? After discussing, brainstorming and partnering with Aspen Chamber Resort Association, host venues like Aspen Meadows Resort and various partners, Destination Colorado elected to move forward with its annual Customer Appreciation Event (CAE) on Oct. 7 – 8, 2020. The format was similar to past years with each detail carefully curated to ensure COVID-19 awareness and safety without sacrificing the integrity of the experience.

Will Zoom Meetings Ever Replace Face-to-Face Meetings?

While I’ve found Zoom, WebEx, GoToMeeting and all the video conferencing platforms helpful for work and socializing during the COVID-19 pandemic, I’ve also concluded that I don’t think Zoom meetings will ever replace face-to-face meetings.
