SAFETY, FAQ’S AND FYI’S

We recognize the importance of this event; Destination Colorado is known for setting the standard for the meetings and events industry here in Colorado. We want to assure you that we will be taking every precaution to ensure that this event is well planned, organized and safe – we will be following guidelines set forth by the CDC, State of Colorado and Pitkin County Public Health. Please review the information below from our participating members and partners.

PITKIN COUNTY: Visit the Pitkin County Coronameter – Covid Data Dashboard here for latest updates.

FROM OUR LODGING PROVIDER – ASPEN MEADOWS: The Aspen Meadows Resort wholeheartedly believes the Hospitality industry is about people taking care of people. The safety of our guests and associates has always been our number one priority. Please read and acknowledge your understanding and acceptance of the important information found here regarding your stay, and prior to your arrival.

FROM OUR RECEPTION SPONSOR – HOTEL JEROME: As always, our number one priority is the health and safety of you, our valued guest, and our employees. Having traveled away from your home, we appreciate that you understand that we cannot guarantee your health. However, we are taking a number of actions to enhance the already high standards of health and cleanliness in our resort, so that you will feel comfortable and well taken care of during your stay with us. Click here for current information.

FROM OUR LUNCH HOST – LIMELIGHT ASPEN: We have been working closely with state and local authorities in Colorado to be in lockstep with their guidance. That has meant a careful and meticulous focus on modifying our operations with a focus on safety, particularly when it comes to increased sanitation processes. Our commitment to our guests is to be as thorough as possible, and to even exceed governmental guidelines where possible, just to be sure. As a guest, you’ll notice a few policies that are new: all staff will be wearing masks for the foreseeable future, social distancing will be carefully monitored in common areas, public hand-sanitizer stations will be prevalent, and the format of our daily signature breakfast will be modified to ensure safety. Behind the scenes, housekeeping will use rigorous protocols for cleaning (including the use of hospital-level disinfectants) and electrostatic sprayers will be used throughout the hotel to sanitize surfaces. Click here to review our complete commitment to safety.

IF YOU PLAN TO VISIT MAROON BELLS: Due to COVID, social distancing requirements and the need to estimate and safely manage demand, reservations will be required to access the Maroon Bells Scenic Area and related amenities this year by vehicle or by RFTA shuttle. Learn more about visiting Maroon Bells by shuttle in 2020. The cost for each vehicle reservation will be $10. Visitors will be required to use the RFTA shuttle service between the hours of 8am – 5pm. The last shuttle up is at 3pm. The fare will be $15.95 for all reservations. Parking at the Aspen Highlands Ski Area is Free for the first 30 minutes, then costs: 1/2-3 Hours: $10, 3-8 Hours: $15, 8+ Hours: $30. When buses are not in operation, vehicle reservations will be required to access the Maroon Bells Scenic Area.

FROM OUR ACTIVITY PROVIDER – BLAZING ADVENTURES: With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, our small, family-owned business has adapted to new formats, operations, and procedures to keep our staff and guests safe. Let this be your guide to how we anticipate enjoying the outdoors in Summer 2020. Safety and health of our staff and guests is our top priority. We will continue to monitor and abide by county and state regulations, along with recommendations from the CDC and WHO.

  • EMPLOYEE SAFETY: Employees must be symptom-free in order to report to work each day. Each day, employees will undergo symptom and temperature checks. If they are experiencing any symptoms related to COVID-19, they will be sent home immediately and quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours after symptoms subside. Employees must report to a manager if they’ve been exposed to someone with COVID-19 during the past 14 days. Employees will maintain daily sanitation records for all work environments including offices, vehicles, rafts, SUPs, bikes, & guest gear. Employees are currently required to wear face coverings while at work. Guides may remove face coverings during rafting, due to safety measures in place. Guides will wear face coverings at all other times. We understand that we’ll have to adapt to changes throughout the summer. As the summer progresses, we will continue to update all safety protocols.
  • GUEST SAFETY: Guests will be asked to report to our staff if they have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 during the past 14 days or if they are experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19. If exposed or experiencing symptoms, guests will not be allowed to participate. This is to protect the health and safety of our staff and other guests. We will be flexible with re-scheduling or cancellation due to guest illness or exposure. Neck gaiters or masks are required during transportation and may be required during activities, depending on distancing. Neck gaiters are available to purchase at Aspen and Snowmass offices. Lunches, snacks, and drinks will be handled by staff only. Hand sanitizer will be available on every trip and in our offices. We encourage each guest to pre-sign waivers using our e-waiver system. If unable to e-sign, extra waivers will be available onsite with multiple pens and clipboards available. Pens and clipboards will be disinfected following each use. Blazing Adventures cannot stress enough that the health and safety of our guests, staff, and community is of the utmost importance to us. We will continue to update our protocols as information evolves. Please reach out to us for general activity information, cancellation policies, or as a local resource for your party’s needs.
  • SANITATION AND INFECTION CONTROL: All gear and surfaces that have been in contact with guests or staff will be disinfected after each use. All gear will be disinfected in accordance with manufacturer recommendations. All vehicle surfaces will be thoroughly cleaned with disinfectant wipes following each use. Up-to-date documentation of cleaning will be available in each vehicle. All vehicle surfaces will be disinfected in accordance with CDC recommendations.
